In this article you learn more about the 'Prices' section in the 'Group' menu of the YourDriverApp Web Portal available for YourDriverApp Fleet Solutions owners and admins. In the 'Group' menu you can find all the information for you as owner and/or admin of a group:
- Dispatch Panel
- Members
- Jobs
- Customers
- Driver Settlements
- Ratings
- Web Booker
- Settings - General
- Settings - Products
- Settings - Prices
- Settings - Locations
- Settings - Location Policies
- Settings - Coupons
- Settings - Promotions
- Settings - Apps
- My Contract
In the Pricing section you can create and add several pricing rules for your products which you use with your external booking integrations. (these 'Pricing' rule options are currently not available for the YourDriverApp solution itself to configure).
Once a pricing rule is created, it can/must be activated in the Apps menu.
Typical examples of pricing rules are:
- Dynamic: A dynamic rule calculates a ride fare based on the time and distance from departure to destination (based on Google Maps). The fare calculation is then based on a minimum price and/or waiting price p/min and/or start price and/or kilometre price and/or minute price.
- Location to location: With a location to location rule you can set fixed prices from one location to another. For example Airport-City for a fixed rate.
- Special rates: Special rates are discounts or additions (percentages or fixed amounts) you can add to Dynamic or Location pricing rules. For example you want to give a 10% discount on the standard pricing rule when pickup is between 13:00 and 16:00 because there is a lot of availability, or the other way around if you want to charge a 10% addition to the standard pricing rule when pickup is between 13:00 and 16:00 because there is less availability.
Rules
When you navigate to the pricing menu you enter the rules overview. Here you can view and prioritise all your created rules. Later in this article we will explain the importance and meaning of prioritising but first we will explain the rules configuration itself. You can create a new rule by clicking the blue '+' button in the lower right of the screen. You can choose between 2 config set ups, 'Dynamic' or 'Location to Location':
Dynamic:
- Name: Here you can name your rule.
- Type: Dynamic rules calculate trip prices based on distance and duration.
- Priority: What the priority is of this rule over other rules.
- Start date/time: From what date and time this rule should apply.
- End date/time: From what date and time this rule should end.
- Specific week days: Here you can select, by checking the checkboxes, if the rule should only apply at specific days and times of the week.
- Tell us where this rule should apply: Here you can configure precisely from where to where this rule should apply. The default setting is 'Everywhere to Everywhere' which basically means that this rule applies from everywhere to everywhere. However, you can also search for locations and areas you've created in the Locations menu. Now you can configure specific dynamic rules from a location/area to a location/area, a location/area to everywhere, everywhere to a location/area and everywhere to everywhere.
- Product pricing: Here you can activate or deactivate the products you want to use in this rule. You can deactivate a product by clicking the switch.
- Minimum price: Here you set the minimum price for the trip. For example when the calculation based on the distance calculates a price of €10,- but the minimum price is set to €20,-, this will be the price shown.
- Waiting price p/min: Here you can optionally set a waiting price per minute.
- Start price: This is the amount which is included in the calculation whether there is a distance or not.
- Kilometre price: Price per kilometre
- When you hit the '+' sign you can add extra kilometre prices which are calculated after a certain distance. So for example, the default is €2,22 and after 10km €2,-. This means that for the first 10km the price is calculated with € 2,22, after 10km the rest of the price is calculated with €2,-.
- Minute price: Price per minute
- When you hit the '+' sign you can add extra minute prices which are calculated after a certain time. So for example, the default is €0,37 and after 10min €0,20. This means that for the first 10min the price is calculated with €0,37, after 10min the rest of the price is calculated with €0,20.
Don't forget to save your input by clicking the 'Save' button in the lower left screen.
Location to Location:
- Name: Here you can name your rule.
- Type: Location to location prices have a fixed price.
- Priority: What the priority is of this rule over other rules.
- Start date/time: From what date and time this rule should apply.
- End date/time: From what date and time this rule should end.
- Specific week days: Here you can select, by checking the checkboxes, if the rule should only apply at specific days and times of the week.
- Product pricing: Here you can activate or deactivate the products you want to use in this rule. You can deactivate a product by clicking the switch.
- Waiting price p/min: Here you can optionally set the waiting price per minute.
- Fixed price: Price from location to location, use the 'search' field to look up your created Locations and select them.
- When you hit the '+' sign you can add extra rules, for example the detour rule.
Don't forget to save your input by clicking the 'Save' button in the lower left screen.
Priority:
The priority means what priority the specific rule has over other rules, where the rule with priority '1' has the highest priority. So it is very IMPORTANT that you prioritise correctly. For example you have 4 rules:
- Location to Location rule X
- Location to location rule Y
- Dynamic rule A: Everywhere to Everywhere
- Dynamic rule B: Airport X to Everywhere
If you prioritise 'Dynamic rule A' as number 1, all further rules become basically deactivated because 'Dynamic rule A' has an 'Everywhere to Everywhere' config. If you prioritise 'Dynamic rule B' as number 1 and 'Dynamic rule A' as number 2 the system first checks if there is a match on 'Dynamic rule B' and if there is no match found for 'Airport X to Everywhere' then the system switches to priority 2 and since the config is Everywhere to Everywhere for Dynamic rule A there is always a hit. So in the example you should prioritise as following
- Location to Location rule X
- Location to Location rule Y
- Dynamic rule B: Airport X to Everywhere
- Dynamic rule A: Everywhere to Everywhere
Priorities 1 - 3 can be moved but priority 4 has to be the lowest in order for the other rules to apply.
Special Rates
Special rates are rules defined as discounts or additions as percentages or fixed amounts which can be added to your standard pricing rules. For example when you want to add extra discount to your dynamic rules at a certain time of the day. Another example is when you want to add additional costs if a Location to Location trip is booked for at night.
To create a special rate rule hit the tab 'Special Rates' in the 'Pricing' menu. You can create a new rule by clicking the blue '+ button' in the lower right of the screen. You have the following options:
- Name: Here you can name your rule.
- Priority: What the priority is of this rule over other rules.
- Type: Here you can choose whether you want a 'Fixed' rate or a 'Percentage' rate.
- Amount: Here you set either the fixed amount or the percentage amount.
- Calculation: Here you can either choose for the rate to be a price discount or a price increase.
